The hardest part of a technology transformation is often what happens after the project plan is approved. A new ERP system, manufacturing application, or process change can have all the right technical pieces and still fall short if it does not fit the way the operation actually runs. Leaders have to be willing to challenge assumptions, listen when something is not working, and make adjustments before small issues become operational problems.
